HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Mehama, 450-500. Drachm (Subaeratus, 27 mm, 2.84 g), a contemporary imitation. 'JAVA MAHAMA' ('the victorious Mahama) in Brahmi Bust of Mehama with elongated skull to right, wearing diadem withcrescent at the front, earrings, pearl necklace and at the side, two horizontally-pleated ribbons; in field to right, large Alchon tamgha. Rev. Incuse of obverse. Cf. Vondrovec, Type 317 (for prototype). Breaks in plating and with scratches, otherwise, very fine.
